We have reviewed sight words, must, on, pretty, say and that playing beanbag games. Also, we learned and discussed vocabulary words, bickering, defiantly, desperately, harmony and recognized from our Text Talk book, "It's Mine!" by Leo Lionni. I was thrilled to hear the children using those words, especially when some children said, "Mrs. Pierce, we are taking turns and being kind to our friends. This means we are playing in harmony, right?" during outdoor creative play time. :)
The children enjoyed independent/shared reading time and learned how to be good listeners/speakers. They successfully implemented what they had learned when they shared their work.
We had fun-filled math lessons. The children practiced skip counting by 2's, 5's and 10's, discovered ways to make given numbers with cubes and learned shapes/patterns with blocks.
As for artistic activities, we had form drawing lessons with stick crayons and drew beautiful pictures of cats with block crayons.
Have a wonderful holiday weekend!
