We had a wonderful last school day for year 2016 celebrating Mackenzie's birthday early (her birthday is New Year's Day!). She recited her birthday poem beautifully. Happy Birthday, Mackenzie!

This year third graders learned about India, Russia, Israel, Japan and Germany and thier holiday traditions. We enjoyed making Japanese rice balls, origami cranes, Russian nesting dolls, latke bean bags, St. Nicholas ornamnets, and oil pastel elephants. We also enjoyed holiday treats St. Nicholas left in out rain boots!
As a culminating activity of our novel study, Charlotte's Web by E.B. White, we watched the movie adaptation (with popcorn, of course!).
Thank you for participating in our annual Winter Lights Festival. I hope that you and your family enjoyed the magical experience at the Enchanted Forest.
